The Discover Mermaid Experience is designed for anyone who wants to experience swimming like a mermaid in a real aquarium environment. Participants receive guidance from professional mermaid instructors while exploring the underwater world alongside tropical marine life.
This experience is perfect for beginners, curious swimmers, or individuals who have tried mermaiding before but have not yet completed a certification course.

Participant Requirements
- Age & Supervision: Participants must be at least 9 years old and comfortable in and around water. Anyone under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present as the paid adult observer.
- Health & Safety: Participants should be in good physical health, able to swim unassisted, and navigate stairs, ladders, and slopes at entry/exit points. Assistance with dressing must be arranged individually.
- What to Bring: Shower at our facility before your session and bring a swimsuit, towel, and dry clothes for afterward.
- What Not to Bring: Jewelry, outside mermaid tails, underwater electronics, or items that may compromise marine life. Accessories/tops may be allowed with staff approval.
- Arrival: Check in at least 15 minutes before your program. Waivers must be completed before entering the tank. Late arrivals cannot participate. Mertailor may adjust, cancel, or reschedule programs for animal care requirements.
- Cancellation & Changes: Program fees are non-refundable. Changes ≥14 days in advance are free; changes <14 days incur a $50 fee. Contact (352) 513-3278. No-shows or cancellations cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
